As you all know, Japan has been hit by a bad earthquake and tsunami on Friday. The destruction is immense, and the pictures I've seen really tear at my heart. Japan is a country that is very dear to me - I'm rather worried about the town of Hirosaki where I spent my semester abroad. (I have long lost contact to everyone there so I have no way of finding out how the situation is there ...) To help, a lots of activities have sprung up. On Livejournal and Dreamwidth, charity auctions have been set up and bidding for the offers has commenced. You can bid for lots of stuff there, from fiction and art over food and crafts to postcards and letters.
